Junior Kylie Lorenzen (Holliston, Mass.) netted 15 points, as the Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team recorded a 76-59 non-conference victory against Felician University on Sunday afternoon at the SNHU Fieldhouse.

Lorenzen shot 5-for-9 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from the line, while grabbing nine rebounds and dishing a pair of assists. Senior Catherine Stinson (Lynn, Mass.) was also in double figures with 10 points (3-7 FG, 1-1 3-FG, 3-7 FT), to go with four rebounds and three steals.

Sophia Guerrier paced the Golden Falcons with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Tied at four less than three minutes into the contest, Southern New Hampshire scored nine straight – keyed by a 3-pointer from freshman Sarah Deyo (Attleboro, Mass.) – to open up a 13-4 advantage at the midway point of the first quarter. After a trey from Danelle Gibson stopped the bleeding, an 8-2 run – capped by a 3-pointer from Stinson – pushed the Penmen lead to 21-9 with a minute to go in the opening quarter. SNHU led, 21-11, after one.

After a 3-pointer from Kayla Diaz opened the second-quarter scoring, a three-point play from Stinson and triple from sophomore Victoria Dean (Plymouth, Mass.) gave Southern New Hampshire its largest lead of the half at 27-14 with 5:47 to go. An 8-2 counter-run from Felician would cut the deficit to seven before the Penmen brought a 32-23 advantage into the break.

A 3-pointer from Deyo just 21 ticks into the second half sparked a 12-3 run – with five points from Lorenzen and four from senior Jennifer Shelp (Apalachin, N.Y.) – that ballooned the SNHU lead to 44-26 at the 5:40 mark. Felician would climb as close as 13 in the stanza, but the final four points from the Penmen extended their lead to 54-37 heading to the final frame.

A 6-0 run from Felician would trim the deficit back to 13 before a 10-1 burst – with four points from sophomore Molly Terry (Shrewsbury, Mass.) – gave Southern New Hampshire its largest lead of the contest at 68-46 with under three minutes to play. The visitors would get no closer than 17 the rest of the way.

Deyo posted nine points (3-8 FG, 3-5 3-FG), eight rebounds and two assists, with Shelp notching eight points (3-4 FG, 2-2 FT) and eight boards. Terry also scored eight points (3-10 FG, 2-2 FT), while adding four steals and a pair of rebounds. Junior Brianna Camara (Fall River, Mass.) chimed in with three points (1-5 FG, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds and three assists.
