NCAA RELEASE | NCAA SELECTION SHOW REPLAY | BRACKETS
INDIANAPOLIS – The Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team has garnered the No. 4 seed in NCAA East Regional and will take on fifth-seeded Post University in the NCAA East Regional No. 1 on Saturday, April 29, the NCAA Selection Committee announced Tuesday night.
The Penmen, who earn their sixth NCAA Tournament berth – all in the last seven years, will be making their second straight trip after repeating as Northeast-10 Champions on Saturday to earn the automatic qualifier. SNHU is 16-6, overall, having gone 9-0 in conference play, and has won 10-in-a-row. Post (12-9) will be making its first ever NCAA Tournament appearance after falling in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) title match Sunday.
The winner of this match moves on to face top-seeded and host Queens (N.Y.) College (14-5), which received a bye directly into the next round, on April 30. The winner of that match advances to the "Sweet 16" in Altamonte Springs, Fla., May 9-12.
Southern New Hampshire will be looking for its first ever win in the NCAA Tournament. The Penmen are 3-0, lifetime, against Post, with the teams set for their first ever clash in the postseason. SNHU blanked the Eagles, 9-0, at home in non-conference action back on Oct. 16.
