The Southern New Hampshire University women's soccer team traveled to the island of Bermuda for a week-long trip that will include site-seeing and soccer matches against local competition. Senior Paige Salmon (W. Hempstead, N.Y.) will provide first-person accounts on the trip with daily blogs. This is her fourth entry.
"Wopnin?" is slang for "What's happening?" and is a standard friendly greeting on the island. To learn more about "Bermy slang," click HERE.

Today was another early wake-up call (Can you tell that I love my sleep by now?) and the team seemed to be exhausted this morning. I think being a tourist is a little harder than we expected. We started off our morning like we did on Tuesday, eating breakfast and heading off to training. The island decided to show us a good rain storm today mid-practice.
It rained for about 30 minutes, leaving us drenched, but once the storm was gone, it was a great beach day. So that's where we headed after practice! The beaches on the south end of the island (where we are) are divided by big cliffs. So, when we went today, we were able to find a beach that no one was on and make it our own. We only stayed down for about an hour-and-a-half, so the sun wouldn't drain us for our match coming up that night. Many of us napped when we arrived back up to the Barracks.
The game tonight went well. We were very satisfied with the way we moved the ball around, mainly through our back line. Trisha Luis ('18) started us off early once again when she scored off a cross from Abigail Maker ('18). Our second goal came from Alena Woodarek ('18) off a cross from Courtney Benson ('18). Nerida Montrond ('19) put us up by three when she scored off a header from Jenna Fitzgerald's ('19) corner service. Danielle Humphreys ('19) scored our fourth goal off a pass from Emily Roan ('20). Our last goal came from Allyson Patterson ('20) from an assist by Sydney Crema ('18). It was a great effort and a good win by all. When we headed back to the Barracks, we ate some sandwiches, showered, then headed off to bed, though, Samantha Sparda ('19) stayed up to do some Biology homework for her SNHU online summer class.
