Notes: The Penmen won two of three NE10 contests last week. They handled Stonehill College at The Ice Den last Tuesday 4-1 before splitting a pair of games at Assumption College. On Friday, SNHU skated to a 3-2 win before falling 5-4 the next night. This is the first meeting with UMass Boston since the 2013-14 season when the teams met in Boston. The winner of this contest will play the winner of today's late game between UMass Dartmouth and Fredonia State University. Freshman Jake Cox (Columbus, Ga.) leads with the Penmen with 12 points and has scored in seven straight games. He was honored as the NE10 Rookie of the Week on Tuesday. Two other newcomers are among four SNHU players with five points, Charlie Davis (Milton, Mass.) and Cole Stewart (Alpharetta, Ga.). In net, junior Kurt Gutting (Weymouth, Mass.) has won two starts this year and has eight career wins. Freshman JT Kossakowski (Elburn, Ill.) has also played well and was named Goaltender of the Week in the NE10 after picking up his first career win against Assumption.

Junior Tyler Sifferlen (North Andover, Mass.) scored twice in the win, his first two-goal game of the season. Sophomore Zack Bross (St. Louis, Mo.) tallied his fifth goal of the season. He's tied with junior Nolan Redler for most on the team. Sophomore defenseman Nick Albano added three assists in the win and leads the team in scoring with 11 points. The Beacons outshot Suffolk 48-13 in the game. Junior Bailey MacBurnie (Beverly, Mass.) improved to 6-0-0 on the season, stopping 10 shots.
