Notes: The Penmen have won three of four, including 2-1 over UMass Boston yesterday in the opening game of the Manchester PAL/Stovepipe Invitational. It was the first loss of the season for the Beacons, who entered ranked seventh in the nation in the latest USCHO Division III poll. Senior Chris Moquin (Hooksett, N.H.) scored the first goal off a pass from freshman defenseman Joe Fiorino (Willow Grove, Pa.). Freshman Charlie Davis (Milton, Mass.) made it 2-0 at 14:44 of the second period, his fourth goal of the season. In net, junior Kurt Gutting (Weymouth, Mass.) stopped 54 of 55 shots in a spectacular effort. SNHU looks to win the tournament today for the first time since 1998. This is the 24th Manchester PAL/Stovepipe Invitational Tournament. The teams are meeting for the first time in three years. The Penmen traveled to Fredonia, N.Y. on Halloween 2015, falling 7-3. Freshman Jake Cox (Columbus, Ga.) saw a seven-game scoring streak snapped yesterday, but he continues to lead the team in scoring. He was honored as the NE10 Rookie of the Week last Tuesday. Davis is second on the team in scoring, and four other players, including Moquin and fellow senior Brett Strawn (Wareham, Mass.) are next with five points. Freshman JT Kossakowski (Elburn, Ill.) in net was named Goaltender of the Week in the NE10 after picking up his first career win last Saturday against Assumption.

Fredonia State fell behind 3-0 in the first period, but rallied with three goals in the third period to pick up the win. Freshman Ethan Kirbis (Clarence, N.Y.) notched a power play goal at 12:03 of the first period to put Fredonia on the scoreboard. Junior Ryan Dunn (Rockland, Mass.) scored his first goal of the season early in the third period to cut the lead to 3-2. Junior Charlie Manley (Orchard Park, N.Y.) scored a power play goal at 6:43 of the third period tied the game. Senior Luke Rivera (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) tallied the game winning goal at 14:20 of the final period. Junior Anton Rosen (Orsa, Sweden) stopped 24 shots and earned the win. Fredonia had a 31-27 shot advantage on the Corsairs.
