Senior Brett Strawn (Wareham, Mass.) and senior Chris Moquin (Hooksett, N.H.) each found the net for the first time this season as SNHU won its second straight contest, defeating Framingham State by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday at the Ice Den.   

STANDOUT PERFORMERS

• Freshman Jake Cox (Columbus, Geo.) scored his first career goal at 12:22 of the first period.  He also added an assist.
• Moquin had a goal and an assist in the win.
• Freshman Alec Marshall (Nashua, N.H.) stopped 21 of the 22 shots he faced for his career debut.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Cox scored the game's first goal on one-timer from freshman Gustaf Arfelt (Stockholm, Sweden).  Freshman Andy Somerville (Medford, Mass.) set up the play.
• Strawn redirected a shot by sophomore Max Kent (Sandwich, Mass.) for his first of the season, a power play goal, at 13:09.  
• The Penmen took a 3-0 lead at 5:04 of the second as Moquin stole a pass and beat Framingham goalie Adam Calabrese with his blast.
• Matthew Siegel scored the only Rams goal on a man advantage situation at 8:39 of the second period.  Soren Colstrup received the assist.
• Freshman Travis Quigley (North Babylon, N.Y.) tallied his first career goal off a setup from Moquin with three seconds left in the second period to make it 4-1 Penmen.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• The Penmen had a 44-22 shot advantage on the Rams.
• Each team had one opportunity on a penalty shot, but failed to score.
• The Penmen had 49 faceoff wins to just 27 for the visitors.

NOTES

• Moquin upped his career points total to 58.  It was 30th career goal, 20 of them coming last season for SNHU.
• Strawn has 43 career points, including 14 goals.
• SNHU now leads the all-time series with the Rams 24-13-1.
