Men's Cross Country Takes On Franklin Park Course At New England Championships

When and Where: October 12, 2019 – New England Championships, Franklin Park, Boston, Mass. 
Distance:  Men's race, 8K 
Results: Southern New Hampshire University – 22nd/25 (623)

Sophomore Conner Leone (Southington, Conn.) led the Penmen squad at Saturday's New England Championships at Franklin Park in Boston.  

STANDOUT PERFORMERS
  • Leone finished the 8k course in 26:32, finishing in 83rd place among 170 runners.
  • Leone just edged out junior Jack Ardrey (Milford, Conn.)  Ardrey ran a 26:35.
  • Sophomore Jacob Logan (Norwood, Mass.) finished in 27:31.
NOTES
  • The top four runners on the team were held out to allow some younger members to participate.
  • Providence College (42) won the team title, edging out Northeastern University (75).  Ezra Mutai, an American International College freshman, won the men's 8k in 24:17.
UP NEXT
  • The Penmen will compete at the NE10 Championships on Sunday, October 27 at Jamesville Beach State Park, N.Y.
