MANSFIELD, Mass. – Senior Bas van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was chosen as the Northeast-10 Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 13, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
van Biezen, who notches the third NE10 Player of the Week honor for the Penmen this season, went 2-0 in a 4-3 victory over Merrimack College on Sunday. van Biezen toppled Alec Mackay Rodriguez, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, at No. 3 singles and also teamed with brother and classmate Willem van Biezen (Sassenheim, Netherlands) - a two-time Player of the Week recipient this season, for a 6-2 No. 1 doubles win against Denis Davydov and Conrad Koch.
van Biezen and the Penmen are off until the spring season.
