Men's Cross Country Season Ends With Hewitson Run At NCAA

RESULTS
When and Where: November 23, 2019– Sacramento, Calif. (Arcade Creek Cross Country Course at Haggin Oaks)

SNHU junior Micah Hewitson (New Market, Md.) finished 154th at the NCAA Division II National Championship on Saturday in Sacramento, Calif, bringing an end to the season for the Penmen.

RESULTS
  • Hewitson's time for the 10k was 32:03.3, just two seconds off his season-mark which was set at the East Regionals on November 9 (32:01).
  • The 32:03.3 clocking was the seventh fastest in program history, just behind Tyler McLaren's run at the 2017 NCAA Division II Championship. 
NOTES
  • Colorado School of Mines men captured their second title in five years with 57 points.  Adams State finished second with 136 points.
  • Freshman Ezra Mutai of American International College won the race in 29:31.2  AIC was 24th in the team competition, and the highest finish by an NE10 team.
  • The SNHU women's cross country team ran in the race for the first time, finishing 32nd on Saturday.
