Senior Shawn Montague (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) dropped 20 points and sophomore Justyn Lacy (Catskill, N.Y.) recorded his second career double-double, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team posted a 78-58 win over Goldey-Beacom College on Saturday afternoon at the Joseph West Jones Center.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire, which led wire-to-wire, scored the first nine points of the contest, as part of a 22-5 run over the game's opening 5:40. Six of the first eight baskets of the game for the Penmen came from long range, with Joyce knocking down a pair to lead the way with six points during the stretch, while Montague (5), Long (5), Sanders (3) and Almonacy (3) all each converted a triple.
- GBC trailed, 43-24, at the break, but closed to within 56-47 with just over nine minutes to play, when SNHU ripped off a 22-6 run to grab its largest lead of the contest at 78-53 with 2:01 remaining. The bench sparked the run with the first seven points, including five from Lacy, as Almonacy (6) and Montague (5) did the bulk of the lifting down the stretch.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- J'Von Winslow (5-13 FG, 3-8 3-FG, 1-3 FT) and Jesiah West (6-13 FG, 1-2 FT) paced the Lightning with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
- The Penmen outshot the Lightning, 56.9 percent (29-51) to 42.9 percent (24-56), including 50 percent (13-26) to 25 percent (5-20) from beyond the arc.
- SNHU also shot it better from the line, 53.8 percent (7-13) to 31.3 percent (5-16).
- The Penmen won the glass (38-26), narrowly collected more points off turnovers (22-21) and second chance points (12-11), and featured a better assist-to-turnover ratio (18/20-11/13), while the Lightning captured the paint (36-30), had more fastbreak points (13-11) and received slightly more scoring from their bench (22-17).

- Southern New Hampshire has won four of its last five, while Goldey-Beacom has its four-game winning streak snapped.
- The Penmen improve to 2-0 in the all-time series against the Lightning.
