Senior Eamonn Joyce (Medford, Mass.) poured in a game-high 23 points, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team was edged by Pace University, 80-76, in non-conference action Saturday at the Goldstein Fitness Center.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire trailed, 35-34, with under three minutes to go before the break with it used a 20-7 run to take its largest lead of the day at 54-42 just over four minutes into the second stanza. Conroy led the way with six points, while Almonacy and Joyce added five and four, respectively.
- SNHU held on to a 74-73 lead with just under three-and-a-half minutes remaining, when Pace would convert three field goals and make three stops to take a 79-74 advantage with 24 seconds left. Joyce made it a one-possession game with less than five ticks on the clock, but Pace would all but seal it with a pair of free throws.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Bryan Powell registered a double-double of 17 points (8-11 FG, 1-2 3-FG) and 12 rebounds to pace the Setters, while Peyton Wejnert also scored 17 (7-15 FG, 2-4 3-FG, 1-4 FT).
- The Penmen narrowly outshot the Setters, 49.1 percent (26-53) to 47.1 percent (33-70), including 34.5 percent (10-29) to 33.3 percent (9-27) from beyond the arc.
- SNHU was also plus-9 from the line and shot it better, 73.7 percent (14-19) to 50 percent (5-10).
- The Setters marginally won the glass (36-35), collected more points off turnovers (22-7) and second chance points (13-4), received more scoring from it bench (31-16), and featured a better assist-to-turnover ratio (18/4-17/10).
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire had won four of its last five, while Pace has won two straight after suffering its first two losses of the year.
- The Penmen had won eight straight and 11 of 12 in the series with Pace, entering the day. SNHU, which leads the all-time series, 18-11, had also won four-in-a-row versus the Setters on the road, falling for the first time since Jan. 19, 2011 (64-57).
- Joyce scores 20 or more points for the fifth time this season and the 15th time in his career. It is the third time in the last five contests he has reached the 20-point plateau.
