Senior Eamonn Joyce (Medford, Mass.) poured in a game-high 23 points, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team lost its second straight game in the final seconds Tuesday night, dropping a 77-76 decision to Southern Connecticut University at the Moore Fieldhouse.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire led, 75-72, with less than 30 seconds remaining in the contest when Levar Allen dropped in a layup that pulled the Owls within one. After SNHU made one of two from the stripe at the other end, a Khalil Richard 3-pointer with eight seconds on the clock gave Southern Connecticut a 77-76 lead. The Penmen had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but their layup attempt was blocked.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Richard led Southern Connecticut with 20 points (8-11 FG, 1-3 3-FG, 3-3 FT).
- The Penmen outshot the Owls, 54.2 percent (32-59) to 50.8 percent (33-65), including 44.4 percent (8-18) to 25 percent (5-20).
- SCSU was a perfect 6-for-6 from the stripe, while SNHU was just 4-for-8.

- Southern New Hampshire, which had won five of its last seven, has now dropped three-in-a-row, while the Owls vanquish a two-game skid.
- SNHU leads the all-time series, 53-25, despite having dropped four of the last five, including three straight on the road, against SCSU.
- Joyce scores 20 or more points for the sixth time this season and the 16th time in his career.
