Senior Eamonn Joyce (Medford, Mass.) posted 17 points and 13 rebounds, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's basketball team faltered late in a 72-61 loss to crosstown-rival Saint Anselm College on Tuesday night at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium.

KEY MOMENTS
- Southern New Hampshire trailed, 31-23, with less than seven-and-a-half minutes to go in the opening half when it ended the stanza on a 13-0 run. It extended the stretch into the second half, holding Saint Anselm without a field goal for a total of 10:39, as it used a 15-1 barrage to take a 38-32 lead with 18:29 remaining.
 
- The advantage was 42-34 just under two minutes later when a 15-2 Saint Anselm run flipped it into the lead at 49-44 with 8:38 to play.
 
- The score was tied, 55-55, with under five-and-a-half minutes on the clock when the Hawks took the lead for good, closing the contest on a 17-6 run - led by seven from Miles Tention and five from Gustav Suhr-Jessen.
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Chris Paul led Saint Anselm with a double-double of 17 points (6-18 FG, 2-2 3-FG, 3-4 FT). Tention also scored 17 points (5-13 FG, 3-9 3-FG, 4-4 FT), while grabbing seven rebounds, and Tyler Arbuckle added 15 points (6-15 FG, 1-6 3-FG, 2-3 FT).
 
- The Hawks outshot the Penmen, 38.1 percent (24-63) to 36.4 percent (24-66), including 39.1 percent (9-23) to 14.3 percent (3-21) from beyond the arc.
 
- Both teams were even from the line at 83.3 percent, with Saint Anselm (15-18) holding a plus-5 edge over SNHU (10-12).
 
- The Penmen captured the paint (38-28), gathered more fastbreak points (9-8) and received more scoring from their bench (10-4), while the Hawks won the glass (45-39), collected more points off turnovers (13-12) and second chance points (9-7), and featured a better assist-to-turnover ratio (13/14-8/13).
 
NOTES
- Southern New Hampshire loses for just the second time in seven games, while Saint Anselm extends its winning streak to five games.
 
- Saint Anselm, which leads the all-time series, 38-35, has now won five straight meetings.
 
- The Hawks sweep the regular-season series after also securing a 104-93 overtime victory at SNHU on Nov. 26.
 
- Joyce's double-double is his sixth of the season and the 11th of his career.
 
- Joyce passes Trevor Middleton (1986-90) to move into 47th place on SNHU's all-time scoring list with 1,039 points.
 
- The win gives Saint Anselm another point in the Queen City Cup standings, but Southern New Hampshire still leads, 12-10, in the battle for Manchester supremacy.
