  • Stonehill extended its lead with a 10-0 run that spanned the third and fourth quarters to open a 57-41 margin with 7:36 remaining.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
  • Kayla Raymond led all players with 18 points (8-20 FG, 1-6 3-FG, 1-2 FT), 10 rebounds and five blocks off the bench for Stonehill.
  • The Penmen outshot the Skyhawks, 42.9 percent (21-49) to 38.6 percent (27-70), while Stonehill narrowly returned the favor from from beyond the arc, 27.3 percent (6-22) to 26.7 percent (4-15).
  • SNHU also shot it better from the line, 75 percent (9-12) to 72.7 percent (8-11).
  • The Skyhawks captured the glass (40-33) and the paint (30-26), collected more points off turnovers (14-10) and second chance points (16-3), received more scoring from their bench (34-16), and turned in a more impressive assist-to-turnover ratio (18/10-9/18).
NOTES
  • Southern New Hampshire loses for the fifth time in seven games, while Stonehill caps the regular season with a nine-game winning streak.
  • Stonehill, which leads the all-time series with SNHU, 45-13, has now won six of the last seven meetings, including three straight at home. The last time the Penmen were victorious at Stonehill was Dec. 7, 2016 (73-61).
  • Stonehill sweeps the regular-season series, as it also was victorious, 68-51, at SNHU back on Jan. 5.
  • Southern New Hampshire is currently tied for fourth place in the Northeast-10 Northeast Division standings with Assumption College. The Penmen can clinch the No. 4 seed and a first round home game in the NE10 Championship with a win Tuesday, coupled with an Assumption loss. A SNHU loss or Assumption win would make the Penmen the No. 5 seed and send them on the road in the first round.
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The Penmen play their final regular-season home contest Tuesday, Feb. 25 (5 p.m.) when they host Saint Michael's College on Senior Night at the Stan Spirou Field House. The game will air on both FOX College Sports and WGIR 610-AM.
