In total, 4,419 NE10 student-athletes earned a grade point average of 3.0 or better, as the Academic Honor Roll members made up a record-breaking 76 percent of the total number of student-athletes from the 14 NE10 institutions and four associate members. In addition, each institution had at least 63 percent of their student-athletes on the list, while nine institutions had over 75-percent of its student-athletes included.
The 269 Penmen on the list match the most for the department since the fall 2017 semester and account for 74 percent of Southern New Hampshire's athletes (363), which is SNHU's second highest mark in its history.
In a sport-by-sport breakdown, the Penmen baseball (33), softball (21) and women's lacrosse (27) teams placed third in the league in their respective sports, while volleyball (14) and women's tennis (8) were fourth, and field hockey (18), ice hockey (22) and women's basketball (12) were fifth. Looking just at the institution, baseball's 33 honorees led the way for SNHU, with women's lacrosse, women's track & field (24), women's soccer (23) and ice hockey rounding out the top five.
The Academic Honor Roll – formerly the Commissioner's Honor Roll – acknowledges the commitment of NE10 student-athletes to excel in the classroom with three designations – Academic Excellence (4.0 GPA), Academic Distinction (3.50-3.99 GPA) and Academic Honors (3.00-3.49 GPA).
The NE10 is an association of 14 diverse institutions serving student-athletes across 24 NCAA Division II sports. Together we build brilliant futures by embracing the journey of every student-athlete.
Each year, 4,500 of those student-athletes compete in conference championships in 24 sports, making the NE10 the largest DII conference in the country in terms of sport sponsorship. Leading the way in the classroom, on the field and within the community, the NE10 is proud of its comprehensive program and the experience it provides student-athletes.
