MANSFIELD, Mass. – Freshman Annemartine Christis ('S-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) and junior Sofie Wolters (Schilde, Belgium) of the Southern New Hampshire University field hockey team were tabbed as NE10 All-Conference honorees Tuesday, as the league handed out its end-of-the-year accolades.
Christis, who started all 17 contests for the Penmen this season, earned a spot on the NE10 All-Conference Second Team, as well as an All-Rookie Team nod. Christis led the team in both goals (9) and points (23), while ranking second in assists (5). She finished 13th in the NE10 in points and also sat inside the top 20 in goals and assists. Amongst the league's freshmen, Christis slotted in third in assists and fourth in both goals and points.
Wolters, a Third Team selection, also started all 17 matches and was an important cog in the SNHU defense, making a pair of defensive saves. She also contributed, offensively, with two goals and three assists for seven points. Wolters placed third on the team in assists, fourth in points and tied for fifth in goals, while ranking inside the top 10 in the league in defensive saves.
Southern New Hampshire, which ended the season on a three-game winning streak, finished 6-11, overall, including 6-8 in conference play, as it fell just one game shy of the final postseason spot in the NE10.
