MANSFIELD, Mass. – Graduate students
Kiko Hernandez (Madrid, Spain) and
Jannik Mohr (Koblenz, Germany) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's soccer team received United Soccer Coaches East All-Region Team accolades Wednesday.
Hernandez was named to the First Team after also collecting NE10 All-Conference First Team honors. Hernandez, a key cog in the midfield for the Penmen, started all 19 contests and recorded two points on a pair of assists.
Mohr, a fellow tri-captain, earned a Second Team nod. Mohr, a Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team and NE10 First Team honoree, started all 18 matches he played in, anchoring a back line that has allowed the second fewest number of goals in the NE10 this season (18) and also ranked third in goals-against average (0.91). Mohr has also contributed on the offensive end with two goals and an assist for five points. His goal in the 72nd minute against Adelphi University on Nov. 6 sent the Penmen to the semifinals of the NE10 Championship.
Southern New Hampshire (11-6-1, 8-3-1 NE10) claimed the fourth seed in the NE10 Championship and advanced to the semifinal round, falling to top-seeded and eventual-champion Franklin Pierce University.
