MANSFIELD, Mass. – Graduate student Joshua Goldstein (Haverhill, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team was named a finalist for the prestigious Northeast-10 Man of the Year on Tuesday.
Goldstein, one of three finalists for the honor, is the owner of an MBA (3.722) and a Bachelor's degree in Business Management (3.677) from SNHU. The two-time captain of the nationally-ranked baseball team, Goldstein is three-time NE10 All-Conference Third Team selection and helped lead the Penmen to an NE10 title this season, as well as regionals crowns in 2018 and again this year. This season, Goldstein is hitting .305 with two home runs, 24 RBI, 34 runs scored and 19 stolen bases. He ranks second in the league in steals, third in triples (3), eighth in runs and 15th in hits (36) and doubles (8).
Goldstein has found numerous ways to serve the community in his time on campus. He has participated in events for the Salvation Army and New Horizons Food Pantry, while contributing time to organizations such as Team IMPACT and Make-A-Wish. He was also a four-year participant in Take Back the Night, a walk for justice on sexual abuse. Goldstein is also a Presidential Student Ambassador on campus and an active participant on SNHU's SAAC for two years.
Previously, SNHU has been home to two NE10 Man of the Year winners, including Kyle Thomas (2015) and Tyler McLaren (2018), as well as an NE10 Woman of the Year in Laura van der Doorn (2020).
The NE10 Man and Woman of the Year awards honor student-athletes for their excellence in competition, in the classroom and in the community.
