ATLANTA – The Southern New Hampshire University women's basketball team was honored by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) with a Special Mention when the organization announced its Division II Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll, recently.
The Penmen, who compiled a 3.692 grade-point average this season, would have ranked 18th in the entire country, but were ineligible for the honor since they did not compete this year. Only Pace University (3.764) had a higher GPA of any teams in the East Region. SNHU has now owned one of the top 25 GPAs in the nation in four of the last five seasons.
Lubbock Christian University led all NCAA Division II members with a 783 GPA.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2020-21 season is the 26th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
