MANSFIELD, Mass. - Senior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team was named the NE10 Player of the Week for the period ending Sept. 14, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.
Conti earned a share of individual medalist honors at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational, as he followed up his opening-round 73 with a tournament-low 68 Monday that put him at 3-under with a 141 for the tournament. Men's golf won the 14-team event at Keene (N.H.) Country Club by nine strokes, collectively shooting 580.
The Player of the Week honors is the first of the year for Conti, as well as the second of his career.
Conti and the Penmen return to action Monday, Sept. 20 for the first round of the Penmen Fall Invitational at Derryfield Country Club.
