Men's Golf 11th Following First Two Rounds at The Trojan Open

Sophomore Andrew Surprenant (Boscawen, N.H.) fired a 3-under 69 in the second round of The Trojan Open on Monday, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team sits in 11th place after 36 holes at Walnut Creek Golf Club in Goldsboro, N.C.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
  • Surprenant opened the tournament with a 74 in the first round Monday and then moved up into a fourth-place tie at 1-under 143 with his second-round 69.
  • Freshman Gavin Richardson (Concord, N.H.) is tied for 25th at 5-over 149. He carded an even-par 72 in his first collegiate round, before submitting a 77 in the second round.
  • Senior Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) shot a 76 in the opening round and added a 77 in the second to sit at 9-over 153.
  • Sophomore Charlie Blake (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) has a two-round total of 157 (76/81).
NOTES
  • Junior Mitchell Cormier (Walpole, N.H.) had his first-round 82 and his 91 in the second round both dropped from the team score.
  • Junior Drew Cameron (Londonderry, N.H.) also had his 86 and 98 dropped from the team score.
  • At 13-under through two rounds, Barton College (563) owns an eight-shot lead over Lenoir-Rhyne University (571).
  • Barton's Winston Knobloch leads the field by seven strokes at 10-under 134 (68/66).
  • The Trojan Open is comprised of 78 golfers from 12 different institutions.
