Sophomore Andrew Surprenant (Boscawen, N.H.) carded a 2-over 74 in the third and final round of The Trojan Open on Tuesday, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team placed 10th at Walnut Creek Golf Club in Goldsboro, N.C.
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
- Surprenant, who entered the day tied for fourth at 1-under following his second-round 69, matched his first-round score with a 74 that tied him for fifth at 1-over 217.
- Freshman Gavin Richardson (Concord, N.H.) tied for 25th at 227, as he turned in a 78, following a 72 and 78 in the first and second rounds, respectively.
- Senior Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.), who went 76-77 on Monday, turned in a 79 to finish with a 232.
- Sophomore Charlie Blake (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) finished with a three-round total of 242 (76/81/85).
NOTES
- Junior Drew Cameron (Londonderry, N.H.) had his 90 dropped from the team score.
- Junior Mitchell Cormier (Walpole, N.H.) did not play the third round, after having his 82 and 91 dropped Monday.
- Lenoir-Rhyne University (863) rallied to win the tournament by five shots over Barton College (868). The Bears finished at 1-under for the three rounds.
- Barton's Winston Knobloch came in at 8-under 208 (68/66/74) to claim individual medalist honors by five strokes.
- The Trojan Open was comprised of 78 golfers from 12 different institutions.
