Female Athlete of the Week: Ashley Corcoran - Women's Cross Country - Gr.
Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) won the NCAA East Regional Championship on Saturday in Bethpage, N.Y., finishing in a time of 21:55.40, as women's cross country captured its first NCAA East Regional crown and qualified for the NCAA National Championship on Friday, Dec. 2 at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Wash.

Male Athlete of the Week: Jacob Logan - Men's Cross Country - Gr.
Jacob Logan (Norwood, Mass.) qualified as an individual for the NCAA National Championship, placing second at the NCAA East Regional Championship on Saturday in Bethpage, N.Y., crossing the finish line at 31:41.10. The team placed fifth, overall. Logan will race at nationals on Friday, Dec. 2 at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Wash.

Notes:
- Sixth-seeded volleyball went 3-0 last week in Springfield, Mass., capturing the NCAA East Regional title in the program's first NCAA postseason berth. The Penmen opened with a 3-1 victory Thursday against third-seeded Bentley University, then toppled seventh-seeded Saint Anselm College (3-1) on Friday, before taking down fifth-seeded Adelphi University (3-2) in a five-set thriller Saturday. They earned the No. 8 seed for the NCAA National Championship and will open against top-seeded Concordia University, St. Paul on Thursday, Dec. 1 (10:30 p.m. at Seattle Pacific University's Royal Brougham Pavilion.
- Redshirt-junior Ana Pimenta (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) notched 31 kills (3.88 k/s), 30 digs (3.75 d/s) and four blocks (0.50 b/s). Pimenta posted a double-double of 16 kills and 14 digs against Bentley and then claimed 15 kills and 16 digs versus Saint Anselm.
- Sophomore Carmen Bernardis (Trieste, Italy) recorded 24 kills (3.00 k/s), 12 blocks (1.50 b/s) and 11 digs (1.38 d/s). Bernardis matched a career high with 14 kills (.333) and recorded a career-high seven blocks versus Bentley, before posting 10 kills and five blocks against Saint Anselm. 
- Graduate student Sara Montefameglio (Turin, Italy) tallied 92 assists (11.50 a/s), 29 digs (3.63 d/s) and three blocks (0.38 b/s). Montefameglio dished 48 assists and gathered 14 digs against the Falcons, had 44 assists and 15 digs versus the Hawks, and then handed out a season-high 53 assists to go with a career-high 16 digs.
- Sophomore Deanne Wilson (Buffalo, N.Y.) collected 48 digs (6.00 d/s) and four aces (0.50 sa/s). She had 26 digs against Bentley, 22 versus Saint Anselm and 31 against Adelphi in the final.
- Senior Dai Thawnghmung (Lowell, Mass.) and graduate student Alice Arletti (Modena, Italy) came up big in the final with a career-high 17 kills each. Thawnghmung added 14 digs, while Arletti hit .351 and recorded five blocks.


Field Hockey (8-11, 7-6 NE10)

Notes:
- Field hockey, seeded eighth in the NE10 Championship, was edged by top-seeded Saint Anselm College, 2-1, Tuesday, as its season drew to a close. The Hawks snapped a 1-1 tie with just 1:36 on the clock in the fourth quarter.
- Freshman Bernardita Diaz de Vivar (Buenos Aires, Argentina) gave the Penmen a 1-0 lead just 4:40 into the third quarter off an assist from sophomore Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands).
- Freshman Emma Peeters (Wageningen, The Netherlands) stopped nine of the 11 shots she faced.
 

Cross Country

Notes:
- Cross country competed in the NCAA East Regional Championship on Saturday in Bethpage, N.Y.
- The men finished fifth, overall, missing out on a trip to the NCAA National Championship, however, graduate student Jacob Logan (Norwood, Mass.) finished second in a time of 31:41.10 and earned a berth to nationals. Sophomore Carter Sylvester (Northwood, N.H.) was 10th in 32:03.90.
- The women won their first NCAA East Regional Championship, as graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) led the way by winning the race with a time of 21:55.40. Junior Kaitlyn O' Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) ran a 22:27.20 to finish third, while classmate Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) wound up seventh in 22:37.90.
- The women's team, as well as Logan, will take part in the NCAA National Championship in Friday, Dec. 2 at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Wash.


Women's Basketball (2-1, 1-0 NE10)

Notes:
- Women's basketball opened NE10 play with a 58-55 victory at Southern Connecticut State University on Saturday.
- Senior Adriana Timberlake (Braintree, Mass.) led the team with 14 points (5-16 FG, 4-8 3-FG) and three rebounds.
- Junior Jess Knight (Hanover, Mass.) recorded her second straight double-double and the fourth of her career with 10 points (3-11 FG, 4-6 FT) and 10 rebounds.
- Senior Ariana Koivisto (Pomfret, Conn.) narrowly missed out the double-double with 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-2 FT), nine boards and three assists.

Notes:
- Men's basketball went 2-0 last week with a pair of road wins, defeating Molloy College, 81-69, Wednesday, before opening NE10 play with a 58-57 triumph over Southern Connecticut State University.
- Sophomore Ethan Okwuosa (No. Haven, Conn.) averaged 14.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.0 block per game, while shooting 52.4 percent (11-21) from the floor and a perfect 5-for-5 from the line. Okwuosa notched his first career double-double with 14 points (4-9 FG, 1-5 3-FG, 5-5 FT), 15 boards, five assists, a steal and a block at Molloy. He then added 15 points (7-12 FG, 1-3 3-FG) and nine rebounds at Southern Connecticut.
- Junior Matt Becht (Vienna, Va.) recorded 18.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.0 assist per contest, while shooting 37.9 percent (11-29) from the field, including 40 percent (6-15) from beyond the arc, and 81.8 percent (9-11) from the line. Becht netted 19 points (7-14 FG, 4-8 3-FG, 1-2 FT), grabbed six rebounds and made three steals against the Lions, before tallying 18 points (4-15 FG, 2-7 3-FG, 8-9 FT), five rebounds and two helpers against the Owls.
- Junior Noah Kamba (Lynn, Mass.) had 18 points (4-12 FG, 4-10 3-FG, 6-6 FT), four rebounds, three assists and three steals versus Molloy.


Men's Ice Hockey (3-6, 3-4 NE10)

Notes:
- Men's ice hockey went 1-2-0 last week in a trio of road games, getting doubled-up at Rivier University, 4-2, Tuesday, before splitting a pair at Franklin Pierce University. The Penmen notched a 7-4 victory Friday night and then was edged by the Ravens, 5-4, in overtime Saturday.
- Senior George Thurston (Plymouth, Mass.) collected six points on two goals and four assists. Thurston had an assist at Rivier, a goal and a helper Friday and then a goal and two assists Saturday.
Freshman Brendan Lynch (Nepean, Ontario) scored a goal and dished four assists for five points, as he was chosen as the NE10 Rookie of the Week earlier Monday. He dished an assist at Rivier, and then tallied a power-play goal and gathered three assists in the Franklin Pierce win.
- Senior Ryan Coady (Braintree, Mass.) recorded four points on a goal and three helpers. He picked up a helper in the win over the Ravens and then posted a goal and two assists in the FPU loss.
- Graduate student Adam Mercer (Belchertown, Mass.) stopped 51 of 60 shots over 111:17 in two starts. He started and made 22 of 26 saves over the opening 50:31 Friday, before stopping 29 shots Saturday.
-Sophomore Cam Bernard turned aside 29 of 32 in 68:23. Bernard made his first career start against Rivier and made 25 saves. He then stopped all four shots he faced over the final 9:17 in the Franklin Pierce win.

Completed Seasons

Women's Soccer (6-6-5, 3-4-5 NE10)

Notes:
- Women's soccer finished 6-6-5, including 3-4-5 in the NE10, and earned the No. 8 seed for the NE10 Championship. The Penmen traveled to the top-seeded College of Saint Rose for the quarterfinal round and suffered a 3-0 defeat.
- The Penmen did enough, however, to collect their eighth NCAA Championship berth, including fifth straight. SNHU collected the No. 7 seed and traveled to play second-seeded Franklin Pierce University in the opening round of the NCAA East Regional, absorbing a 3-1 loss.
-SNHU began the season 5-0-0 for the second straight campaign and just the third time since 1994.
- Junior Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) and graduate student Ai Inoue (Tokyo, Japan) were selected to the NE10 All-Conference Third Team, while freshman Georgia Greene (Clifton Park, N.Y.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.


Men's Soccer (8-6-4, 5-3-3 NE10)

Notes:
- Men's soccer went 8-6-4, including 5-3-3 in NE10 play, earning the No. 4 seed and a quarterfinal home contest in the NE10 Championship. SNHU defeated the fifth-ranked College of Saint Rose in penalty kicks, but suffered loss at top-seeded Franklin Pierce University in the semifinal round.
- The Penmen put together a stretch in which they were unbeaten in seven of eight matches (4-1-3) from Sept. 17-Oct. 15.
- Junior Luca Shubitidze (Leipzig, Germany), sophomore Isnaba Namussé (Fogo, Cape Verde) and graduate student Jaime Selva (Alicante, Spain) all claimed NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors.
- Freshman Philipp Hermann (Bruckmuehl, Germany), grad student Mikel Cortarzar (Barakaldo, Spain), senior Gabe Pinhancos (No. Attleboro, Mass.) and grad student Julio Betar (Melbourne, Australia) received Third Team recognition.
- Sophomore Preston Neal (Windham, N.H.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.
