Montefameglio Honored as NE10 Setter of the Week

The graduate averaged 11.67 assists per set in a 2-0 week for the Penmen

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Graduate student Sara Montefameglio (Turin, Italy) of the Southern New Hampshire University women's volleyball team was recognized as the NE10 Setter of the Week for the period ending Nov. 6, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Montefameglio tallied 70 assists (11.67 a/s), three aces (0.50 sa/s) and 21 digs (3.50 d/s) during a 2-0 week for the Penmen. Montefameglio posted 39 assists, one ace, two blocks and nine digs in a 3-0 win over Le Moyne College on Friday, before recording 31 assists, two aces and 12 digs in Saturday's three-set victory against the College of Saint Rose.

Montefameglio, who has played in 17 matches this season, ranks fourth in the NE10 in aces per set (0.53), seventh in assists per set (8.51) and 10th in total assists (502).

Montefameglio and the fourth-seeded Penmen play host to fifth-seeded Saint Anselm College in an NE10 Championship quarterfinal match at the Stan Spirou Field House on Thursday, Nov. 10 (7 p.m.). It is the first time SNHU has ever hosted an NE10 postseason match.
