Jacob Logan (Norwood, Mass.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's cross country team set a new personal record by 20 seconds and finished 108th in the 262-runner field at the NCAA National Championship on Friday morning at Chambers Creek Regional Park.
STANDOUT PERFORMERS
- Logan finished in a time of 31:21.10 to place 108th.
NOTES
- Logan qualified for nationals as an individual, as he finished second at the NCAA East Regional Championship on Nov. 19.
- The time was a new personal best for Logan, as he ran 20 seconds faster than his 31:41.10 at the NCAA East Regional last month.
- Logan's time is the third fastest 10k in program history and just four seconds off the school record of 31:17, which was set at the 2015 NCAA National Championship by Nacho Hernando-Angulo. Hernando-Angulo now owns four of the top six 10k times in program history, with Logan holding the other two spots.
- Logan was the top finisher among the 24 runners representing the East Region.
- The Colorado School of Mines' Dillon Powell was the individual champion, beating the field by 21 seconds with a time of 29:28.0.
- The Orediggers captured the team title with 43 points, placing all five scorers in the top 20, including three of those in the top eight, to cruise to victory.
