Female Athlete of the Week: Jess Knight - Women's Basketball - Jr., F
Jess Knight (Hanover, Mass.) posted 19.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.0 blocks and 1.0 assist per game, while hitting on 71.4 percent (15-21) of her shots from the field and 88.9 percent (8-9) from the line, during a 2-0 week for the Penmen. Knight recorded a double-double of 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-1 FT) and 10 rebounds, to go with three blocks, an assist and a steal, in a 79-74 win over Adelphi on Wednesday. She then poured in 23 points (8-11 FG, 7-8 FT) and tallied 11 boards, an assist and a block in Saturday's 77-66 win at Pace. Knight has four double-doubles in six games this season. Knight was chosen as the NE10 Player of the Week earlier Monday.
Male Athlete of the Week: Matt Becht - Men's Basketball - Jr., G
Matt Becht (Vienna, Va.) averaged 21.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steal per game, while shooting 55 percent (11-20) from the field, including 72.7 percent (8-11) from long distance, and 92.9 percent (13-14) from the stripe, during a 1-1 week for the Penmen. Becht went off for 27 points (9-12 FG, 6-7 3-FG, 3-3 FT), to go with three rebounds and an assist in Wednesday's 70-65 victory against Adelphi, before adding 16 points (2-8 FG, 2-4 3-FG, 10-11 FT), three boards, three assists and two steals in a 67-56 defeat at Pace on Saturday. Becht was selected as the NE10 Player of the Week earlier Monday.

- Eighth-seeded Women's volleyball saw its historic season draw to a close Thursday night in Seattle with a 3-0 loss to top-seeded Concordia University, St. Paul in an NCAA Championship quarterfinal match.
- SNHU lost a pair of tight sets to open the match, including a 25-23 second stanza that saw the most points scored in a set by an East Region representative at the NCAA National Championships since 2014.
- Senior Dai Thawnghmung (Lowell, Mass.) led the way with seven kills on .500 hitting, to go with three digs.
- Sophomore Carmen Bernardis (Trieste, Italy) also recorded seven kills and added a block.
- Graduate student Sara Montefameglio (Turin, Italy) tallied three kills, 19 assists, an ace, six digs and a block.
- The Penmen, who set a new program record with 19 wins, finish 3-1 in their first NCAA postseason appearance.

- Cross country competed at the NCAA National Championship on Friday at Chambers Creek Regional Park in University Place, Wash.
- The women, who were competing as a team for just the second time (2019), finished as the top team from the East Region and checked in 32nd, overall. Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) placed 88th with a time of 21:57.0, that slots in as the eighth fasted 6k in program history. Of the 23 runners from the East Region taking part in the race, Corcoran was first.
- On the men's side, graduate student Jacob Logan (Norwood, Mass.) raced as an individual, completing the 10k in a time of 31:21.10 to place 108th. The mark set a new personal best for Logan by 20 seconds and was just four seconds shy of matching the school record. It stands as the third fastest 10k in school history. Logan was the first of 24 runners representing the East region to finish.

- Women's basketball went 2-0 last week, recording a 79-74 victory over Adelphi University on Wednesday, before scoring a 77-66 road win at Pace University on Saturday.

Timberlake went for 20 (6-18 FG, 2-7 3-FG, 6-8 FT), with four rebounds, four assists and a steal against the Panthers. She then dropped 23 (8-17 FG, 3-7 3-FG, 4-6 FT), to go with three rebounds, three assists and a steal, versus the Setters.
- Senior Jenna Roche (Braintree, Mass.) registered 13 points (3-8 FG, 7-8 FT), five rebounds and three assists against Adelphi, before adding 10 points (3-8 FG, 4-5 FT), eight rebounds and six assists versus Pace.

- Men's ice hockey split a pair of contests at Saint Anselm last week, winning, 3-0, Friday night, before dropping a 3-0 decision Saturday.
- Junior Matt Amante (West Hempstead, N.Y.), senior James Nash (Hampton, N.H.) and sophomore Connor Ball (Webster, N.Y,) all scored goals in the win.
- Graduate student Adam Mercer (Belchertown, Mass.) stopped 60 of the 63 shots he faced from the Hawks. Mercer recorded his first shutout in a Penmen uniform by stopping all 23 shots Friday. He then racked up 37 saves Saturday. He was chosen as the NE10 Goaltender of the Week earlier Monday.

Notes:
- Women's track & field opened the season Friday at Southern Connecticut State University's Art Kadish Elm City Challenge. The Penmen only competed in the pentathlon and finished seventh, overall, at the meet.
- Sophomore Tori Allen (Litchfield, N.H.) placed second in the pentathlon with 2,626 points, which included second-place performances in the hurdles and high jump.

Completed Seasons
Women's Soccer (6-6-5, 3-4-5Â NE10)
Notes:
- Women's soccer finished 6-6-5, including 3-4-5 in the NE10, and earned the No. 8 seed for the NE10 Championship. The Penmen traveled to the top-seeded College of Saint Rose for the quarterfinal round and suffered a 3-0 defeat.
- The Penmen did enough, however, to collect their eighth NCAA Championship berth, including fifth straight. SNHU collected the No. 7 seed and traveled to play second-seeded Franklin Pierce University in the opening round of the NCAA East Regional, absorbing a 3-1 loss.
-SNHU began the season 5-0-0 for the second straight campaign and just the third time since 1994.
- Junior Alyssa Anderson (Londonderry, N.H.) and graduate student Ai Inoue (Tokyo, Japan) were selected to the NE10 All-Conference Third Team, while freshman Georgia Greene (Clifton Park, N.Y.) received an All-Rookie Team nod.
Men's Soccer (8-6-4, 5-3-3Â NE10)
Notes:
- Men's soccer went 8-6-4, including 5-3-3 in NE10 play, earning the No. 4 seed and a quarterfinal home contest in the NE10 Championship. SNHU defeated the fifth-ranked College of Saint Rose in penalty kicks, but suffered loss at top-seeded Franklin Pierce University in the semifinal round.
- The Penmen put together a stretch in which they were unbeaten in seven of eight matches (4-1-3) from Sept. 17-Oct. 15.

Field Hockey (8-11, 7-6Â NE10)
Notes:
- Field hockey finished the season 8-11, including 7-6 in NE10 play. The team won six of its final nine games to make a late playoff push and wound up securing the No. 8 seed for the NE10 Championship.
- The Penmen traveled across town to play top-seeded Saint Anselm College and actually grabbed a 1-0 lead, but the Hawks would tie it and then snap a 1-1 tie with just 1:36 on the clock in the fourth quarter.

Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) collected NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors for the second consecutive season, while freshmanÂ
Emma Peeters (Wageningen, The Netherlands) landed a spot on the Third Team. Peeters also received an All-Rookie Team nod and was joined by classmateÂ
Anne Wiersma (Velhoven, Netherlands).
