GREENWOOD, Ind. - Three members of the Southern New Hampshire University Women's Basketball team have earned a spot on the Academic All-District Team, selected by College Sports Communicators.
Junior
Meghan Gordon (Attleboro, Mass.), senior
Sydnie DeVries (Monson, Mass.), and sophomore
Ava Winterburn (New Boston, N.H.)
Gordon was selected for the second consecutive season. The biology major has a 3.93 grade point-average. She led the team with 11.9 points per game and 6.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 42.3% (126-298) from the field, including 23 percent (16-69) from downtown, and 78.0 percent (64-82) from the stripe. Gordon finished 13th in the league in scoring, 13th in shooting percentage, and 11th in rebounding.
DeVries, a Sport Management and Marketing Major, had a 3.92 GPA. She averaged 6.2 points per game and 5.6 rebounds per game. DeVries hit on 47.5% of field goals, 71.2% free throws, and tied with Gordon with a team-leading 18 blocks.
Winterburn, an Economics and Finance Major, has a 3.88 GPA. She hit for 7.2 points per game and 3.8 rebounds per game. She hit a team-best 37 three-pointers (37-117, 31.6%).
