Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) fired a 72 in the opening round of the Brown Golf Intercollegiate and the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team was in fifth place after Friday's first 18 holes at Foxfire Resort & Golf. The Penmen started the second round, but it was called due to daylight with seven holes remaining.
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
- Junior Jeff Liss (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) fired a 76 in the opening round.
- Sophomore AJ Cavotta (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) shot a 77.
- Freshman Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) carded a 79 as did sophomore Cameron Sheedy (Nashua, N.H.) in his first action as a Penmen.
- Junior Jared Mscisz (Danvers, Mass.) shot an 83 playing as an individual.
NOTES
- Wayne State leads the event after one round at 289. Followed by: Davis & Elkins- 293, Gannon-296 and California (Pa.) – 301 all ahead of the Penmen at 304.
