Pepin Paces Men's Golf in Day One of The Trojan

The freshman carded a 71 in the day's final round

Score: Southern New Hampshire University –300, 293 - 593 (7th)
 
Goldboro, N.C. – Freshman Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) shot rounds of 75, 71 and sits in eighth place after two rounds at The Trojan, hosted by Mount Olive University. The Penmen are in fifth place of 11 teams after day one. SNHU shot 300 as a team in round one and 293 in the second round of the day. The Penmen will play the final 18 on Tuesday.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
  • Sophomore AJ Cavotta (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) shot a 74 both rounds and is tied for 18th at +4.
  • Junior Jeff Liss (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) shot a -1 71 in the second round of the day and sits in 23rd place at +5 for the tournament.
  • Senior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) had rounds of 73 and 77 is is 25th at +6.
  • Freshman Alex Korkuc (So. Setauket, N.Y.) shot rounds of 79 and 78, but did not factor in team scoring.
  • Sophomore Nick Tufts (Auburn, N.H.) shot 81, 88 playing as an individual.
  • ­­Junior Jared Mscisz (Danvers, Mass.) shot an 86, 92 playing as an individual.
NOTES
  • Flagler College leads after 36 holes with -8.
  • Pepin and Liss both broke par with -1 in the second round today.
  • SNHU with its 293 in the second round moved up three spots from its first-round position.
WHAT'S NEXT
  • The Penmen return to action on March 29 when they conclude play in The Trojan, hosted by Mount Olive at Walnut Creek Country Club. SNHU is home on Wednesday, April 6 in a dual match with St. Anselm at Derryfield Country Club.
