MANSFIELD, Mass. - Freshman
Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's tennis team was selected as both the NE10 Player and Rookie of the Week for the period ending March 27, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
Berling registered a pair of wins, at No. 1 singles (6-2. 0-6, 6-4) over Adelphi's Marko Jovanovic, and at No. 1 doubles with graduate student
Thomas Guy, 6-2, over Jovanovic and Gabriel Balestero. The Penmen remained unbeaten (4-0, 1-0 NE10) on the season with a 4-3 win over the Panthers Saturday.
This is the first Player of the Week honor for Berling, who has been named Rookie of the Week three times this school year.
Berling and the Penmen return to action Wednesday afternoon with a match at Saint Michael's College in Colchester, Vermont.
