Jeff Liss (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) carded a 77 (+5) in the final round and finished tied for 21
st at 153 to help the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team (306, 315) to an 11th-place finish at the NCAA East/Atlantic Regional Preview at Ravenwood Golf on Monday afternoon. The two-day 36-hole event was won by Davis & Elkins (301, 294).
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
- Freshman Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) shot a 78 on day two and finished tied for 33rd.
- Sophomore AJ Cavotta (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) shot 80 on day two and finished tied for 44th after a 75 on day one.
- Senior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass) rounded out SNHU scoring rounds with an 80 and finished tied for 72nd.
- Freshman Alex Korkuc (So. Setauket, N.Y.) fired a +8 (80) and did not factor in scoring.
NOTES
- The Penmen are ranked first in the most recent NCAA East Regional rankings.
- The field includes 23 teams and 116 golfers all aspiring to make the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional.
WHAT'S NEXT
- SNHU concludes the regular season and will now await likely selection in the NCAA East/Atlantic Regional, which will again be held at Ravenwood Golf Club. The three-day 54 hole event will take place May 5-7. The selection will be announced Friday, April 22 on NCAA.com.
