Female Athlete of the Week: Graduate student Chloe Griffin (Scarborough, ME)
Chloe Griffin did not allow a run in her two starts. She went four innings of scoreless ball in a 5-0 win at Le Moyne last Monday, then followed that up with a complete-game 1-0 shutout at Saint Anselm on Sunday. 
 
Male Athlete of the Week: Redshirt Sophomore Nick Schwartz (Massapequa, NY)
Nick Schwartz slashed .350/.409/.850/1.259, as he went 7-for-20 with five extra-base hits, two home runs, eight RBI and five runs scored, during a 3-2 week for the Penmen. Schwartz, who currently owns a 14-game hitting streak, was 1-for-3 with three RBI in a 5-3 victory at Bridgeport on Tuesday. Schwartz then went 2-for-5 with three RBI and three runs scored in a 9-8, 10-inning win against Saint Anselm on Thursday.

Notes-
- Graduate student Chloe Griffin (Scarborough, ME) spun a two-hitter and junior Abi Gray (Litchfield, N.H.) singled in the top of the seventh to drive in the game's only run as SNHU earned a split of a doubleheader at Saint Anselm 1-0.
- Gwyn Hammond (Los Angeles, CA) worked twice in relief for the Penmen. Last Monday, the freshman from Los Angeles earned the win, allowing two unearned runs in three innings of SNHU's 9-7 victory over Le Moyne.  She allowed just one run in three innings in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader at Saint Anselm.
- Sophomore Bella Dickinson (Scarborough, ME) led the Penmen offense during a 3-1 week. She had seven hits, including two doubles in 15 at bats (.467 average).

Notes:
-Senior Sam Henrie (Middleboro, Mass.) drove in four runs and redshirt-sophomore Brandon White (Simsbury, Conn.) turned in a complete-game effort to lead the 11th-ranked Southern New Hampshire University baseball team to a 5-3 win over Saint Anselm Sunday afternoon.
-Redshirt-freshman Dylan O'Sullivan (Manchester, N.H.) put the Penmen on the board with a two-run shot to center in the second.
-Redshirt sophomore Brandon White (Simsbury, CT) turned in a complete-game effort, giving up three runs one earned on three hits, striking out four and walking a pair, to improve to 4-1 with a 5-3 victory at Saint Anselm the second game of Sunday's doubleheader.

April 9, 2022-- UNH Wildcat Invitational 2--Durham, N.H.:
-Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) won the 1500M with a time of 4:39.44.  Her time was the fastest in the NCAA Div. II East Region so far this season.
-Graduate student Jill Couto was next at 4:42.26.  Her time was the third fastest in the NCAA Div. II East Region.
-Sophomore Emma Hallet (Billerica, Mass.) ran ninth in the 100m hurdles in 16.65 seconds, tops on the squad, a new PR for her.  She also set a PR in the long jump with 4.99m.
-Junior Madison McMahon (East Longmeadow, Mass.) won the high jump at 1.62m, just off her personal best of 1.63m.
-Sophomore Ava Gravell (Windham, N.H.) set a new PR on her first try in the long jump.
Men's Lacrosse (3-4, 2-4 NE10)

Notes:
- Senior Chris Valentine (Derry, N.H.) scored a season-high four goals and the SNHU Men's Lacrosse team picked up its first NE10 win of the season, 14-13 at Assumption University on Wednesday.
- Valentine scored eight goals and added an assist in SNHU's two wins last week over Assumption and American International.  He scored four goals in each of the wins, and also picked up two ground balls in each of the contests.

Notes:
- Freshman Madison Keating (Milton, N.H.) was selected as the NE10 Rookie of the Week for the period ending April 10. Keating scored a goal in SNHU's 15-14 win at Bentley, and then followed that up with a two-goal, two-assist game in the 15-5 win over Southern Connecticut on Saturday at Penmen Stadium.  For the season, Keating has 11 goals and four assists. Her 15 points are tied for fifth most on the team.  This is the second Rookie of the Week award for Keating.
- Junior Skyler Renaud (E. Waterboro, Maine) scored the game-winning goal just 38 seconds into overtime against Bentley, while junior Angelina Graziano (Riverhead, N.Y.) scored a career-high five goals and added two assists to power the Penmen offense.
-Senior Erin Gorton (Kennebunk, Maine) racked up 10 points on seven goals and three assists, during a 2-0 week for the Penmen. Gorton scored four times, dished a pair of assists and caused a turnover in Tuesday's 15-14 overtime victory against 16th-ranked Bentley. Her goal with 52 seconds remaining in regulation proved to be the equalizer and forced overtime. She then tallied three goals and a helper in a 15-5 triumph over Southern Connecticut on Saturday.

Notes:
Graduate student Natalie Kallmunzerova (Prague, Czech Republic) went 2-0 in Sunday's 6-1 loss to Queens (N.Y.). She earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory at No. 1 singles against Maja Makal and also won her No. 1 doubles match with Magdalena Hubickova (Prague, Czech Repubic) by a score of 6-4 over Makal and Gabriela Sciarrotta.

Notes:
- No. 1 Freshman Jonathan Berling (Moss, Norway) went 2-0 on Tuesday's 7-0 blanking of Assumption. Berling was a 6-3, 6-2 victor at No. 1 singles against Max Francis and also teamed with Thomas Guy at No. 1 doubles for a 6-0 sweep of Francis and Brady Ryan.
-No. 2 Freshman Thomas Guy (Fulda, Germany) won 6-1, 6-2
-No. 3 Fernando Torres (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) won 6-1, 6-0.
-No. 4 Boris Stastny (Prague, Czech Republic) won in straight sets; 6-3, 7-5.
-No. 5 Cade Nadeau (Quispamsis, New Brunswick) won in perfect fashion, 6-0, 6-0.
-Jeremie Bolduc (Manchester, N.H.) made his Penmen debut and won 6-3, 6-4.
 
 
Women's Golf

Notes:
- Casagrande will wait to see if her body of work will be enough for one of six individual spots for the NCAA East Regional. Selections will be announced on April 25 for the East Regional that will take place May 2-5 at Shoal Creek Golf Club in Shoal Creek, Alabama.
-If Casagrande does not advance, it will be the final event for the SNHU women's golf program. The decision to discontinue the sport at the end of this season was announced in August 2021.
-The program was in existence from 2013 to present and saw five finishes in the top four in the NE10 conference. Casagrande's second place finish this fall was the highest-ever finish by a Penmen women's golfer.

- Junior Jeff Liss (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) carded a 77 (+5) in the final round and finished tied for 21st at 153 to help the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team (306, 315) to an 11th-place finish at the NCAA East/Atlantic Regional Preview at Ravenwood Golf on Monday afternoon.
- Sophomore AJ Cavotta (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) shot a +3 75 and sits tied for ninth place to help the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team (306) to a fourth-place position after day one of the NCAA East/Atlantic Regional Preview at Ravenwood Golf on Sunday afternoon.
- Senior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass) and sophomore AJ Cavotta (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) each shot a +2 72 to lift the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team to a 290-301 win over Saint Anselm College in a dual match Wednesday.
- SNHU concludes the regular season and will now await likely selection in the NCAA East/Atlantic Regional, which will again be held at Ravenwood Golf Club. The three-day 54 hole event will take place May 5-7. The selection will be announced Friday, April 22 on NCAA.com.
 
COMPLETED SEASONS
Women's Soccer (13-4-1, 11-2-0 NE10)
Notes:
- Women's soccer posted its highest number of wins in three years, as it began the season 9-0-0 for the first time since the 1984 campaign and also started the year with a 13-match unbeaten streak (12-0-1), which was the longest since the 1989 season.
- The Penmen, who soared as high as No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches Division II National Top 25 Poll, earned the program's first NE10 Regular-Season Championship and the top seed in the NE10 Championship, where it fell, 2-1, to eighth-seeded Southern Connecticut State University in the quarterfinal round.
- SNHU received its seventh NCAA Championship selections and its fourth straight, garnering the third seed in the East Regional, but lost, 1-0, to sixth-seeded Mercy College.
- Graduate students Allyson Patterson (Seekonk, Mass.) and Ai Inoue (Tokyo, Japan) claimed Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) East All-Region First Team honors. Patterson, who earned the accolade for the second consecutive season, started all 17 contests she played in, registering 13 points on six goals and an assist. Inoue, meanwhile, started 13 of the 14 matches she appeared in and was a huge difference-maker on a back line that ranked second in the conference in goals allowed (11), shutouts (9) and goals-against average (0.60). She contributed three assists, offensively.
- Head coach Elie Monteiro collected his second NE10 Coach of the Year award, while Patterson was crowned the NE10 Player of the Year and Inoue was chosen as the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year. Patterson and Inoue were joined on the NE10 All-Conference First Team by junior Jordan Butters (Beverly, Mass.), who started 14 of the 18 matches she played in and ranked second on the team with 14 points on five goals and four assists.
 
Men's Soccer (11-6-1, 8-3-1 NE10)
Notes:
- Men's soccer reached double figures in wins for the first time since 2018. After starting the campaign 3-4-0, the Penmen caught fire and put together a seven-match unbeaten streak (6-1-0), as they lost just one of their final nine matches to end the regular season.
- SNHU claimed the No. 4 seed and a quarterfinal home match for the NE10 Championships and secured a 1-0 victory over fifth-seeded Adelphi University to advance to the semifinal round for the first time since '18. The Penmen lost to top-seeded Franklin Pierce University, 2-1, in overtime to fall short of the title game.
- Graduate students Kiko Hernandez (Madrid, Spain) and Jannik Mohr (Koblenz, Germany) landed spots on the NE10 All-Conference First Team. Hernandez was a key cog in the midfield for the Penmen and dished a pair of assists. Mohr anchored a back line that  allowed the second fewest number of goals in the NE10 this season (18) and also ranked third in goals-against average (0.91). Mohr also contributed on the offensive end with two goals and an assist for five points.
- Grad student Nadjib Chibout (Lyon, France) was chosen as a Second Team selection, while fellow grad student Michael Goncalves (Ludlow, Mass.) and sophomore Nicolas Gonzalez (Santander, Spain) received Third Team nods.
 
Field Hockey (6-11, 6-8 NE10)
Notes:
- Field hockey started the season slow, but won five of its last eight down the stretch, including three straight. The Penmen narrowly missed the NE10 postseason, however, falling one game short of the eighth and final spot in the NE10 Championship.
- Freshman Annemartine Christis (' S-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands) received NE10 All-Conference Second Team and NE10 All-Rookie Team honors. Christis, who started all 17 contests for the Penmen, led the team in both goals (9) and points (23), while ranking second in assists (5). She finished 13th in the NE10 in points and also sat inside the top 20 in goals and assists. Amongst the league's freshmen, Christis slotted in third in assists and fourth in both goals and points.
- Junior Sofie Wolters (Schilde, Belgium) was an NE10 All-Conference Third Team selection. She started all 17 matches and was an important cog in the SNHU defense, making a pair of defensive saves. She also contributed, offensively, with two goals and three assists for seven points. Wolters placed third on the team in assists, fourth in points and tied for fifth in goals, while ranking inside the top 10 in the league in defensive saves.
 
Women's Volleyball (12-11, 8-5 NE10)
Notes:
- Volleyball jumped out to a 3-1 start – its best since the 2014 campaign – and won six of eight down the stretch to claim the seventh seed in the NE10 Championship. The Penmen, making their first appearance in the NE10 postseason since 2018, dropped a 3-1 decision to the second-seeded University of New Haven.
- SNHU finished above .500 for the second straight season – the first time it has done that since the 1979 and 1980 campaigns.
- Junior Juliana Pacini (Sao Paulo, Brazil) became just the third Penmen ever to earn NE10 All-Conference Second Team honors. In 85 sets across 23 matches, Pacini amassed 269 kills (3.16 k/s), 38 service aces (0.45 sa/s), 246 digs (2.89 d/s) and 22 blocks (0.26 b/s).
 
Cross Country
Notes:
- The women started the season out on the right foot by winning the Shacklette Invitational at Saint Anselm College. Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) was also victorious, capturing the event for a second straight season with a time of 23:29.3. The Penmen were also 12th at the 23-team New England Championships (Corcoran matched the fastest 5K in program history at 18:20.4), third at the NE10 Championships and fourth at NCAA East Regional Championships, as they missed out on qualifying for the NCAA National Championships by just a since point. Corcoran's time of 21:43.7 slotted her fourth, overall, which was good enough for an automatic bid to nationals, where Corcoran placed 71st in a time of 21:52.1.
- Corcoran received NE10 All-Conference First Team accolades for finishing third at the NE10 Championships in a time of 22:21.11. She was joined on the First Team by classmate Jill Couto (Newton Junction, N.H.), who was fifth at 22:51.7. Junior Sarah Zarakotas (Deerfield, N.H.), sophomore Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) and graduate student Maura Coakley (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) were all Third Team honorees.
- The men checked in seventh at the NE10 Championships, with senior Jacob Logan (Norwood, Mass.) leading the way in 18th place in a time of 26:50, which earned him NE10 All-Conference Third Team recognition. SNHU was 15th at the NCAA East Regional Championships, with sophomore Kody Gagnon (Tolland, Conn.) running the race in 34:36.3.
 
Men's Basketball (13-11, 9-9 NE10)
Notes:
- Two members of the SNHU men's basketball team were honored with All-Conference recognition.
-  Freshman Aaron Gray was named Third Team All-Conference and was placed on the All-Rookie team. Gray led the Penmen with 15.6 points per game and was also the team's top rebounder at 6.3 points per game.
- Sophomore Matt Becht was also named Third Team All-Conference after averaging 14.9 points per game, second on the squad.  Becht connected on 76 three-point field goals, which ranked second in the NE10.  He scored a career-high 35 points in a January 29 win at Pace University.
- Corry Long was the lone senior on the squad, finishing up with a 12.6 scoring average and 5.2 points per game.
- Playing much of the season short-handed, the Penmen did put together an impressive five game conference win streak between January 19 and February 2.  The final win in that stretch was an 85-59 win over a Franklin Pierce squad that advanced to the NCAA Div. II East Regional.
 
 
Men's Ice Hockey (16-8, 14-4 NE10)
Notes:
- The Penmen won the NE10 regular season title for the first time since the 2005-06 season, earning the top seed in the Championship.  A 3-2 overtime loss to Post University ended the season in the semifinal round.
- Two members of the squad, senior Joseph Fiorino and junior George Thurston were named semifinalists for the Joe Concannon Award, which is presented annually to the best American-born college hockey player in New England competing at the Division II-III level.  Fiorino was selected for the second time.
- First-Team All-Conference Awards went to Thurston and Fiorino, who was also named the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year.  Jake Cox and Adam Mercer were named to the Second-Team.  Matt Amante made the All-Rookie Team, and Sean Walsh was named NE10 Coach of the Year.
- Thurston led the team with 21 goals and 12 assists (33 points).  Cox tallied nine goals and had 22 assists (31 points).  Amante was third in scoring with eight goals and 13 assists.
Women's Basketball (21-7, 15-4 NE10)
Notes:
-SNHU earned the #1 seed in the East Region, but fell at home to Daemen College, the defending regional champ by a score of 70-59.  Graduate student Karlee Ziliak scored 19 points to lead SNHU scorers while sophomore Jessica Knight posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
- This was the first time in SNHU history it hosted an NCAA Regional for women's basketball.
- The Penmen played in the NCAA tournament for the first time since the 1989-90 season.
-The Penmen finished with a 21-7 record, and this is the first time the team has made the NCAA Tournament since the 1990 season.  
-Adriana Timberlake led the team with 362 points, followed by Karlee Ziliak with 339, and Meg Knollmeyer with 304.
