MANSFIELD, Mass. - Junior Gennaro Marra (Derry, N.H.) of the Southern New Hampshire University men's lacrosse team was selected as the NE10 Defensive of the Week for the period ending April 24, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

A faceoff specialist, Marra, has won 200 of 294 faceoffs this season (.680) and he picked up 32 ground balls in SNHU's two wins last week vs. Franklin Pierce and Saint Michael's.  Marra ranks second among all Div. II athletes in ground balls per game (12.55).   This is his second weekly award of the season.

Marra and the Penmen conclude the regular season at home on Tuesday at 7 p.m. against #18 Bentley University.   SNHU will honor its seniors prior to the game.
