NORMAN, Okla. – Southern New Hampshire University men's golf head coach Matt Arvanitis was crowned the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Golf Pride Grips East Region Coach of the Year, recently.
Arvanitis, who was voted as the NE10 Coach of the Year for the second time earlier this month, claims the GCAA honor for the third time (2017-18, 2018-19). Arvanitis guided the Penmen to seven top-five finishes, including four wins. SNHU placed third at the NE10 Championship and then slotted in fifth at the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship to just narrowly miss out on a berth to the NCAA National Championship. The Penmen had the individual medalist at six of the 10 tournaments they played in this season. Arvanitis coached two all-region players and four all-conference honorees, including NE10 Player of the Year and NCAA National Championship individual qualifier, AJ Cavotta (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.).
