Conti Crowned Individual Medalist, as Final Round of Granite State Opener Washed Away

CONCORD, N.H. – The final round of the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team's Granite State Opener, scheduled for Tuesday at Beaver Meadow Golf Course, was canceled due to heavy rain that induced unplayable course conditions.

Senior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.), who fired a 6-under 66 in the second round and led by one shot heading into Tuesday, earns individual medalist honors with a 6-under 138. Senior Jeff Liss (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) finished second in the 54-golfer field with a 5-under 139.

Assumption University (580) wound up as the team champion with a one-shot win over SNHU and a two-stroke advantage on Post University (582).

The Penmen return to action Sunday (Sept. 18) for the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational at Northern Spy Golf Club in Townsend, Mass.
