MANSFIELD, Mass. – The Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team was chosen to finish second at the NE10 Championship, according to the NE10 Pre-Championship Poll that was released Friday. The NE10 Championship will take place Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 16-17 at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow, Mass., in the form of a two-day, 54-hole tournament.
Southern New Hampshire accumulated 64 points and received two first-place votes, while Assumption University was selected to three-peat with 73 points and six first-place votes. Adelphi University scooped up the remaining two first place votes and totaled 61 points to edge Franklin Pierce University (60) for third place.
Bentley University (55) was fifth, while Saint Anselm College (44) slotted in sixth, just ahead of the University of New Haven (39). The College of Saint Rose (26), Saint Michael's College (15) and American International College (13) rounded out the poll.
The Penmen have played in four tournaments this season, with their best finish coming Sept. 18-19 when they tied for fourth at the Granite State Opener at Beaver Meadow Golf Course.
