Female Athlete of the Week:Â Jess Knight - Women's Basketball - Sr., F
Jess Knight (Hanover, Mass.) posted 19 points (6-16 FG, 7-8 FT), 15 rebounds and a career-high five blocks for her 15th career double-double in Wednesday's season-opening, 70-59 victory against Franklin Pierce University for women's basketball.
Male Athlete of the Week: Kurt Watson - Men's Ice Hockey - So., F
Sophomore Kurt Watson (London, Ontario) notched five points on three goals and two assists during a 1-2-0 week for men's ice hockey. Watson scored in a 6-2 loss at Rivier University on Tuesday, and then piled up two goals and a pair of helpers in a 6-2 win over Franklin Pierce University on Friday, including the eventual game-winning tally in the second period.

- Fifth-seeded women's soccer split a pair of matches last week in the NCAA Championship East Regional at the College of Saint Rose. The Penmen blanked fourth-seeded Roberts Wesleyan University on Friday, before suffering a 2-0 defeat to top-seeded and top-ranked Saint Rose on Sunday.
- Graduate student Anne Sikkema (Leeuwarden, Netherlands) scored the eventual game winner against RWU in the 65th minute, with senior Allison Beaumont (Milton, Ontario) finding the back of the net for an insurance goal 4:21 later.
- Sophomore Claudia Keith (Danvers, Mass.) stopped eight of the 10 shots she faced, including both in the shutout of Roberts Wesleyan.

- Ninth-seeded men's soccer lost its NCAA Championship first round matchup Thursday at Franklin Pierce University, falling to eighth-seeded Bloomsburg University, 2-1.
- Junior Shane Siegel (Selden, N.Y.) staked the Penmen to a 1-0 lead in the 61st minute off an assist from graduate student Rafa Escobedo (Santander, Spain).
- Junior Preston Neal (Windham, N.H.) made a pair of saves.

- Fifth-seeded women's volleyball went 1-1 last week at the NE10 Championship, outlasting fourth-seeded American International College in five sets Tuesday, before having its rally fall short in a 3-2 defeat at top-seeded Adelphi University on Friday in the semifinals.
- Redshirt-senior Ana Pimenta (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) recorded 25 kills (2.50 k/s), two aces, 34 digs (3.40 d/s) and 12 blocks (1.20 b/s). She notched a double-double of 14 kills, 17 digs, six blocks and two aces in the quarterfinal win at AIC, while adding 11 kills, 17 digs and six more blocks at Adelphi.
- Junior Deanne Wilson (Buffalo, N.Y.) racked up 46 digs (4.60 d/s), including 28 in the win over the Yellow Jackets.
- Freshman Katalin Kovacs (Budapest, Hungary) tallied 45 assists (4.50 a/s), three aces and 29 digs (2.90 d/s). She produced a double-double of 21 helpers and 14 digs against American Int'l, before handing out 24 assists and collecting 15 digs versus the Panthers.
- Senior Claire Wohlleber (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) registered a career-high 17 kills (.405) to go with eight blocks in the loss to Adelphi. She also had 10 blocks against AIC.

- The cross country season came to end Saturday, as the women finished in 33rd place at the NCAA National Championship in Joplin, Mo.

 Kelsey Seamans (Methuen, Mass.) led the Penmen, as she finished in 190th with a time of 22:25.4, less than 10 seconds off her PR set at the NCAA East Regional Championship two weeks prior.

- Sophomore Meghan Gordon (Attleboro, Mass.) notched her third double-double with a career-high 18 points (6-17 FG, 3-6 3-FG, 3-5 FT) and 10 rebounds.
- Graduate student Adriana Timberlake (Braintree, Mass.) tallied 18 points (7-17 FG, 2-8 3-FG, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists and three steals.

- Men's basketball kicked off its home and conference slate with a 64-59 win over Franklin Pierce University on Saturday.
- Graduate student Alex Rivera (Lowell, Mass.) led four scorers in double figures with a game-high 14 points (4-11 FG, 2-3 3-FG, 4-4 FT), six rebounds, five assists and three blocks.
- Senior Noah Kamba (Lynn, Mass.) scored 13 points (4-9 FG, 3-6 3-FG, 2-2 FT) and grabbed four rebounds.
- Junior Derrick Grant Jr. (Plainfield, N.J.) recorded eight points (4-6 FG), nine rebounds, two assists and a pair of blocks.

- Men's ice hockey went 1-2-0 last week, suffering a 6-2 loss to Rivier University on Tuesday, before splitting a pair at Franklin Pierce University. The Penmen were victorious, 6-2, Friday night, but were blanked, 5-0, Saturday.
- Sophomore Kurt Watson (London, Ontario) notched five points during the week on three goals and two assists. Watson scored against Rivier and then piled up two goals and a pair of helpers in the win over Franklin Pierce, including the eventual game-winning tally in the second period.
- Junior Jack Gray (Lowell, Mass.) scored twice and added an assist for three points. His assistant came in the loss at Rivier, while his two goals came in the Franklin Pierce win.
- Freshman Collin Berke (Crofton, Md.) stopped 55 of the 61 shots he faced in two games. He had a 19-save shutout Friday against the Ravens and then made 36 stops Saturday versus FPU.
-  Freshman Sean Guerin (Chicago, Ill.) made 32 saves on 37 shots in the loss to Rivier.

Completed Seasons
Field Hockey (10-8, 9-4Â NE10)
Notes:
- Field hockey shook off a 1-3 start to win nine of its next 14 contests to end the regular season and earn the No. 5 seed for the NE10 Championship. The Penmen wound up suffering a 1-0 defeat at fourth-seeded Pace University in the quarterfinal round.
- The Penmen posted a signature win at home Oct. 4, defeating fifth-ranked Saint Anselm College, 4-1, for the first win over the Hawks in program history. SNHU had lost 16 straight to its cross-town rival.
- Freshman Minke van de Poll (Oosterbeek, Netherlands) was named the NE10 Rookie of the Year and landed a spot on the All-Conference First Team, setting a new program mark for goals by a first-year player with 14, which led the team.
- van de Poll was joined on the First Team by junior Annemartine Christis ('s-Hertogenbosch, Netherlands). Sophomore Anne Wiersma (Velhoven, Netherlands) earned Second Team honors, junior Eliza Bates (Newport, N.H.) claimed a Third Team accolade and freshman Jade Hendriks (Huissen, The Netherlands) received an All-Rookie Team nod.
