Indoor Track & Field Competes at David Hemery Valentine Invite

Final Test For Few Before Next Week's Conference Championship Meet

When and Where: February 10, 2023- David Hemery Valentine Invitational- Boston University 
Result:  NTS

(Boston, Mass.) - Friday was the final opportunity for several members of the SNHU Indoor Track & Field Team to get in some work before the Northeast-10 Championships next week at The Track at New Balance.  The David Hemery Valentine Invitational draws competitors across all divisions.  Boston University plays host to the event.

TOP PERFORMANCES
  • Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) ran a new program record with a 4:48.19 mile, finishing 66th in a field of 288 athletes.
  • Junior Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) ran the mile in 5:17.91, and freshman Corrina Obernesser ran her fastest mile to date, 5:20.95.
  • Junior Theresa Irving (Penacook, N.H.) turned in personal best for the second consecutive meet in the 60 hurdles (9.94).
  • Freshman Maggie McInerney (Acton, Mass.) just missed her top mark in the same race with a 10.04, but set a new PR in the 200m at 26.05. 
WHAT'S NEXT
  • SNHU heads to the Northeast-10 Indoor Track & Field Championships for two days of competition next Thursday and Friday.   In its most recent rankings, released on Monday by the USTFCCCA, the Penmen are top-ranked team in the East Region.
