The SNHU women's track & field team turned in a strong showing on Thursday afternoon, capturing seven event wins at the SNHU Spring Invitational at Mark A. Ouellette Stadium.
Senior Hope Sinclair (Hampton, N.H.) highlighted the day with a pair of victories, winning the 100 meters in 11.89 seconds and the 200 meters in 25.04. Her time in the 100m was a new personal mark, which would have qualified as a new program best, but was wind aided.
TRACK
Sophomore Hannah Sippel (Chester, N.H.) added a seventh-place finish in the 100 meters (12.67) and placed seventh in the 200 meters (26.18), while also a member of the winning 4x400 relay team.
Sippel ran on the "A" team with freshman Lily Bower (Billerica, Mass.), sophomore Erika Wojcik (North Andover, Mass.), and junior Kay Wheelock (Milford, Mass.) in 4:09.35
Wojcik earned a win in the 1,500 meters, crossing the line in a new PR of 4:48.92 to lead SNHU's distance group.
Wheelock added another victory for SNHU in the 400-meter hurdles, winning the event in 1:06.12.
Graduate student Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) captured first place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (11:20.50).
FIELD
Freshman Jordyn Wall-Carty (Woodridge, N.Y.) led the field events with a win in the long jump (5.11m).
In the high jump, freshman Lindy Moreland (Gorham, Maine) recorded a second-place finish after clearing 1.46 meters.
Senior Brooke Bibbo (Burlington, Mass.) turned in a strong performance in the throws, finishing second in the shot put with a career-best of 11.83 meters.
Junior Kayla Franks (Derry, N.H.) had a javelin throw of 39.11m, good for second place.
NOTES
SNHU's "B" relay added a second-place finish in the 4x400 to cap the day. Sophomore Hope Hanafin (Burlington, Mass.), Obernesser, junior Madison Lyons (Mansfield, Conn.), and freshman Erin Kelley (Braintree, Mass.) ran 4:22.65.
