NO. ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Freshman Lindy Moreland (Gorham, Maine) was named Northeast 10 Field Rookie of the Year, as the conference announced its Indoor Track & Field awards on Friday.
Moreland capped a terrific season by winning the pentathlon at the Northeast 10 Indoor Track & Field Championships on February 19. She recorded personal-best marks in four events—the 800 meters, shot put, high jump, and 60-meter hurdles—while finishing second in the long jump. Moreland also captured the high jump title at the Husky Invitational, hosted by Southern Maine, on January 31.
Moreland is the first athlete in program history to earn a major field award during the indoor season.
The track & field program opens the outdoor portion of its schedule on Saturday, March 28 at Ouellette Stadium with the SNHU Spring Open.
