Corcoran, Gravell Set New Program Records at New England Championships

Freshman Obernesser Turns In Another Strong Race Friday in Boston

(Boston) - Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and junior Ava Gravell (Windham, N.H.) both set new program records and earned podium finishes as the 2023 NEICAAA New England Championships wrapped up Friday at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston.

TOP PERFORMANCES
  • Corcoran eclipsed her one-day old program record by running 2:52.57 for the 1,000m.  In the finals, she finished second to Rebecca Durham of Rhode Island.
  • Gravell also improved on her 400m heat win by running to a third-place finish in a new SNHU program record time of 57.81 on Friday. 
NOTES
  • Freshman Corrina Obernesser (Westminster, Colo.) ran a PR of 10:36.63 for the 3,000m, finishing 11th, while junior Kelsey Seamans (Metheun, Mass.) finished 15th in the race at 10:41.36.  
  • UMass Amherst was the top scoring team at the Championship (129.5 points) with The College of the Holy Cross second (102).  
WHAT'S NEXT
  • SNHU will compete at the Panther Invitational II on Saturday (2/4) at Plymouth State University.
