Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) and junior
Ava Gravell (Windham, N.H.) turned in qualifying performances on the first day of the NEICAAA Indoor Track & Field Championships at The TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Corcoran smashed the program record for the distance, winning her qualifying heat in the 1,000m run. Her time was 2:53.72.  The 1,000m final is scheduled for 1:40 p.m. Friday.
- Gravell won her heat in the 400m with a new PR of 58.12. That was the third fastest qualifying time, and the final is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. Friday.
NOTES
- Gravell also ran a 25.95 in the 200m, which was good for 12th place.
- Junior Kaitlyn O'Rourke (Braintree, Mass.) turned in a 2:22.74 in the 800m, which landed her in 11th place.
- Junior Laila Bunnitt (Lewiston, Maine) finished 16th in the weight throw at 13.78m.
- Freshman Maggie McInerney (Acton, Mass.) competed in the Pentathlon, recording 2,548 points, finishing 11th.
WHAT'S NEXT
- Â The New England Championships (NEICAAA) conclude Friday (2/3) at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
- SNHU is also scheduled to compete at the Panther Invitational II on Saturday (2/4) at Plymouth State University.
