Grad Student Represents Penmen at Nationals

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.. - Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) led through more than half of the race, and finished her mile in a snappy 4:55.13, but failed to qualify for the final on the first day of the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships Friday.  She finished eighth in the first heat.

For the second consecutive indoor season, Corcoran qualified for the mile race.  Her time fell short of the 4:48.99 needed to make the nine-woman final to be run on Saturday in Virginia Beach.  Corcoran holds the SNHU program record of 4:48.19.

The indoor season is now complete.   The outdoor portion of the schedule will start with the SNHU Spring Twilight Invitational at Dr. Mark A. Ouellette Stadium on Friday, March 31 starting at 2:30 p.m.
