Senior Jeff Liss (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) drained a hole-in-one Monday, as the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team played the first two rounds of the Ralph Hargett Memorial Invitational, hosted by Wingate University, at Rolling Hills Country Club.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS

• Liss shot an 83 in the opening round that was dropped from the team score, but bounced back with an even-par 72 – the best round of the day for the Penmen – on the strength of his ace on the 169-yard, par-3 16th hole. His 155 has him tied for 51st.
• Freshman Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) is tied for 39th with a 152, after shooting matching 76s.
• Senior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) is tied with Liss with a 155, as he opened with a 79, before carding a 76 in the second round.
• Freshman Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) penciled in a 78 in each round for a 156. His second-round 78 was dropped from the team score.
• Sophomore Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) went 82-77 for a 159.

NOTES

• Junior Nick Tufts (Auburn, N.H.), playing as an individual, shot a 79 in the opening round and then shaved three strokes off with a 76 in round No. 2 to total a 155.
• Junior Alex Korkuc (So. Setauket, N.Y.), also playing as an individual, is at 179 (90/89) through two rounds.
• Grand Valley State University (577) is in first place and holds an 11-shot lead over Wingate and Flagler College.
• Wingate's Filippo Grossi (137) is the individual leader at 7-under, just a single shot better than Grand Valley State's Charles Delong (138).
• Liss' ace is one of 11 eagles so far in the tournament.
• The Hargett Memorial Invitational is comprised of 96 golfers from 16 different institutions.
