WORCESTER, Mass. - SNHU Cheer turned in a strong performance as the squad competed at Assumption University on Sunday.
The following report, after the event, was filed by freshman
Alexis Chrissanthiss (Derry, N.H.):
"Our performance at Assumption University today was unbelievable. We had an amazing experience and are very satisfied with the routine we put out on the mat. Today we had our best performance yet and hit it out of the park. We exceeded our coaches' expectations with perfect tumbling timing, strong stunts, and a great pyramid. Our coaches are very proud of all of us and that is one of the best feelings out there. The audience went crazy and was incredibly supportive throughout the entire routine. Family and friends from other schools were amazed with our skills and overall performance.
When asked how the performance looked from the side of the mat, freshman Olivia Motta (Fall River, Mass.) said, "The performance was amazing, and the entire crowd was really, really into it. The timing was the best it has ever been. The front flip up in the pyramid was beautiful, it's probably the best we've seen it in a performance. The crowd was very entertained by the performance and our team definitely gave the crowd something to applaud. It was really good."
The emotions felt by both athletes on and off the mat was mutual: "This was probably, by far, the best routine we have ever done, and going out there and hitting our routine was unbelievable. It makes us feel so good and confident for Daytona Beach. This team is absolutely amazing, and we know when we need to dial in and hit our stuff. Today just exceeded all the expectations from the coaches," says junior captain Kelsey Bates (Oxford, Mass.).
