Moreno Collects NE10 Player of the Week Accolade

Sophomore hit .478 with three home runs and 12 RBI

MANSFIELD, Mass. – Sophomore Anderson Moreno (Bronx, N.Y.) of the Southern New Hampshire University baseball team was picked as the NE10 Player of the Week for the period ending April 16, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Moreno hit .478 (11-23) with three home runs, 12 RBI and 11 runs scored, while slashing .552/.957/1.509 during an 8-0 week for the Penmen. Moreno collected a hit in six of the seven games he played in, including multiple knocks in four contests, and made seven errorless plays in the field. He went 2-for-3 with a home run, four RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Tuesday's game-one victory over the College of Saint Rose and later in the week went 3-for-5 with a pair of home runs, five RBI and two runs scored, as SNHU defeated Bentley University, 16-4, in the opener of Saturday's doubleheader.

In 27 games, Moreno is batting .355 (27-76) with three home runs, 19 RBI and 24 runs scored, while slashing .469/.539/1.008. In 18 contests since breaking into the everyday lineup, he is hitting .388 and has collected a hit in 15 games.

Moreno and the Penmen are back in action Saturday, April 22 when they take on Saint Michael's College in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
