Senior Jeff Liss (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) fired an even-par 72 in the first round Monday to place fourth, overall, while the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team checked in 13th at the Atlantic/East Regional Preview, hosted by California University of Pennsylvania, at the Iron Valley Golf Club.
INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS
- Liss' 72 is one of four rounds of par or better, thus far, and has him four shots off the pace, as well as just a single shot behind a two-way tie for second.
- Senior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) and sophomore Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) are tied for 46th, following their opening-round 78s.
- Freshman Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) shot an 80.
- Freshman Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) had his 81 dropped from the team score.
NOTES
- Junior Nick Tufts (Auburn, N.H.), playing as an individual, shot an 84.
- St. Thomas Aquinas College (299) is in first place and holds a two-shot lead over Le Moyne College, Post University and Gannon University.
- Gannon's Giovanni Delorenzi (68) is the individual leader at 4-under, which is three strokes ahead of St. Thomas Aquinas' Nolan Skaggs and Post's Bill Koch.
- Liss had one of 10 eagles on the day, while he is tied for fifth with four birdies. Liss also ranks second in par-5 scoring at 3-under.
- The Atlantic/East Regional Preview is comprised of 132 golfers from 25 different institutions.
