Sophomore Jack Pepin (Plaistow, N.H.) fired a 1-under 71 in Saturday's final round, but the Southern New Hampshire University men's golf team had its season draw to a close by finishing in a tie for 10th at the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship at Iron Valley Golf Club.

INDIVIDUAL PERFORMERS

• Pepin's 71 is the lowest score of the tournament for the Penmen and two shots better than his second-round 73, as he tied for 10th with a 222.
• Senior Jeff Liss (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) improved on his previous best round by five strokes with a 74 that gave him a 235.
• Senior Matt Conti (Walpole, Mass.) penciled in an 80 to tie for 38th with a 229.
• Freshman Sean Dully (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) shot an 82 to total a 240.
• Freshman Evan Rollins (Laconia, N.H.) had his 84 dropped from the team score and matched Liss' 235 for the tournament.

NOTES

• Davis & Elkins College (892) captured the title, with Fayetteville State University (896) and Indiana (Pa.) University (900) also advancing to the NCAA National Championship.
• St. Thomas Aquinas College's Donte Groppuso won individual medalist honors with a 4-under 212, which was just a single stroke better than Davis & Elkins' Jordan Hyland (213).
• Pepin is one of four golfers to make two eagles in the tournament.
• Rollins' 11 birdies tied for the sixth most in the tournament.
• The NCAA Atlantic/East Regional Championship was comprised of 100 golfers from 20 different institutions, as well as eight golfers playing as individuals, representing six different schools.
