What: 2023 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) has advanced to the 3,000m Steeplechase Finals for the second consecutive season by finishing third in the second heat of Thursday night's qualifier at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Pueblo, Colorado.
- Corcoran ran 10:49.63 for the event, which was a little under five seconds behind heat winner Eleonora Curtabbi of West Texas A&M.
- The fastest time of the night went to Natalie Graber of Grand Valley State, in 10:37.54.
- Head Coach Lex Butler called the race great execution by Corcoran, who maintained position just behind the leaders throughout to lock up a spot in the finals. She had plenty left to finish the race, running the final lap in 1:22.91, her fastest 400 of the race.
- The top four finishers in each of two heats, along with the next four fastest finishers qualify for the finals.
