What: 2023 NCAA Division II Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Graduate student Ashley Corcoran (East Longmeadow, Mass.) wrapped up her college career with a seventh-place finish in the 3000m Steeplechase at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championship in Pueblo, Colorado Friday.
- Corcoran ran 10:37.35 for the event, finishing seventh in the field of 12, earning First-Team All-American.
- She had qualified for Friday's final with a third-place performance in her qualifying heat Thursday night in 10:49.63.
- Corcoran ran the 3000S for the second consecutive season at the NCAA's. She finished tenth in 2022, earning Second-Team All-American.
- Eleonora Curtabbi of West Texas A&M repeated as the winner of the event.
Corcoran's All-American honor caps a tremendous season for the program. After winning the Northeast-10 Women's Cross Country Championship, Corcoran and the Penmen followed up with wins at both the Northeast-10 Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships.
- Corcoran competed at the NCAA Div. II Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field Championships in both 2021-22 and 2022-23 and the Cross Country Championships in 2019, 2021, and 2022 (2019 and 2022 with the entire team).
- She has earned multiple NE10 Sport Excellence Awards, including for Women's Cross Country and Indoor Track & Field in 2022-23
- Was named NE10 Women's Track Athlete of the Year in 2023
- Leaves the SNHU program as record holder at 5k and 6k distances for Cross Country
- Has five program bests in Indoor Track - 1000m, Mile, 3000m, 5000m, and was part of the fastest DMR
- Holds four program records in Outdoor Track - 1500m, 5000m, 3000S, and was part of the fastest 4x8 in program history
- Named 2022-23 SNHU Female Athlete of the Year
In the classroom, after earning her Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and a minor in social media marketing and making the President's list she went on to earn a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing- and again, made the President's list. Last year, she was honored with a Sports Excellence Award by the NE10.
